Milford Farm has been owned and operated by the Lewis family for several generations.
It contains pristine forest that reaches down to the sea. As well as rare orchids it’s also home to 3 wedge-tailed eagles, masked owls and lots of other birds, Tasmanian devils, echidnas, quolls, wallabies, pademelons and lots of almost tame bandicoots.
The forest has a Facebook group of around 500 people and consistently good engagement. https://www.facebook.com/groups/MilfordForestTasmania
The survival of the forest is helped by volunteers and donations and is a part of Landcare Tasmania. Landcare is a volunteer movement where individuals and groups improve their local patch. There is a fundraiser running right now https://www.facebook.com/donate/6309641379154037/6641450079207384/
